Welcome to the Tees Valley Getting Help Training Hub
Helping you support the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people
What is the Training Hub?
Our Training Hub offers free online training for parents, carers, and professionals. Our aim is to help you feel more confident in understanding and supporting the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people.
We cover a wide range of topics, including:
- what anxiety is and how to support a child who feels anxious.
- understanding low mood and how it can affect young people.
- self-harm and how to respond with care and safety.
- eating difficulties and how to offer support.
- suicidal thoughts – what they may mean and how to help.
- supporting neurodivergent young people with anxiety and low mood.
- understanding the impact of trauma and how to respond in a safe, kind and informed way.
Our training is designed to be clear, supportive and based on up-to-date knowledge.
All our trainers have experience working in children’s mental health and are from a range of professional backgrounds. This means you will learn from a wide mix of skills, voices and real-life practice.
With the right information and tools, everyone can make a difference. Whether you’re a parent or carer, teacher, youth worker or health professional.
