Tees Valley Getting Help

Tees Valley
Getting Help Service

Helping children and families thrive
through better mental health support.

We are a Tees Valley mental health and wellbeing service supporting children and young people aged 5 to 18, and up to the age of 25 for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), as well as their families. We support those experiencing early mental health concerns.

We work in schools, community settings, and other local services across Tees Valley to provide a wide range of support. This includes working directly with children and young people, offering advice and guidance for families, and providing training and support for parents and carers, school staff, and other professionals.

If you’re a parent or young person looking for general guidance or just want to explore your feelings, this is a great place to start.

Support might look different for each child or young person – some may need quick advice, will others may need more focused or ongoing help.

Getting Risk Support

Even when therapy wasn’t quite the right fit for me, they didn’t walk away. They helped me find a specialist service that could support me to stay safe, and they made sure my family understood what I was going through. That made a big difference.

Getting Advice & Signposting

wasn’t sure if what my child was feeling was normal, or if we needed help. Just having someone to talk it through with made such a difference — they provided us with strategies and pointed us in the right direction. We finally felt less alone.

Getting More Help

Things had been tough for a long time, and we needed more than a few sessions. They listened, didn’t rush us, and helped us find the right kind of specialist support. I don’t know how we’d have managed without that guidance.

Getting Help

Talking to someone helped me figure out why I felt so overwhelmed all the time. They showed me ways to cope when I’m anxious and helped me set goals. I feel more in control now.
