Overview
Overview: This webinar supports understanding of how children develop speech, language, and communication skills. We will talk about what is usually expected at different ages, what a language delay or language disorder means, and when you might want to seek support.
We will also look at how communication can develop differently in neurodiverse children, including autistic children and those with ADHD, and how language differences and neurodiversity can overlap. Practical tips and everyday strategies will be shared to help support children’s communication at home.
Content covered:
- Understanding the difference between speech, language and communication (L&C)
- Typical L&C developmental milestones expected throughout childhood development.
- Understanding language difficulties – the difference between a delay and disorder, the signs and symptoms.
